More doah smallies

Parker, Lauren and I hit the Shenandoah. The river had gone up about a foot since last time.

Parker borrowed my yak and Lauren and I rented a canoe.

The fishing started off rather slow but picked up quickly and finished very strong. One section of the river resulted in non stop fish for all of us. Lauren took the big fish of the day (and her first ever smallie at that).

All fish came on topwater.

VB flounder and reds

Went down to VB last weekend with the family. Fished from the surf both days and it was prettttty good.

We ended up with a good amount of flounder and a LOT of rat reds. I was very pumped to see the large amount of reds. Here are some photos.

Can’t wait to do it again.

Smallies and more smallies

Last weekend resulted in one good day of fishing, one bad day, and a broken sage rod (add it to the list of things I have broken lately with a Droid, Kindle, and cracked iPhone).

I opted to not bring the camera wading for fear of breaking it and missed out on a couple of nice fish photos.

Yesterday parker, steve and I floated down the Shenandoah. Parker and I in a canoe and Steve in a kayak. The trip was 8 miles and turned out pretty decent. We did come across a couple very slow areas but also a few great areas. All the fish were taken on poppers.

Here are some photos.

A not so small smallie

Steve and I hit the potomac today. It is my first day back on a river since May 14th…and it was very nice to be back. The fish weren’t exactly hopping all over the flies but it was a good time. Oh and Steve caught a beast. Biggest smallmouth I have seen in person. Best part was it took a crease fly on top.

And the posts are back

Finally back to fishing again. While recovering, I went out and bought a 2 wt which I used for quite a bit of bluegilling.

I was able to make it down to VB this weekend. Chris and I managed 5 keeper flounder, some toads, a shark, and a couple cobia sightings. Besides the hell like heat, it was a good time.

Here are some photos.

Goodnews Video

This past summer Trev Gowdy’s came up to GRL and filmed an episode of Monster fish. Pretty awesome stuff.

Make sure to take a peak to check out how big some of the kings get up there.

I won’t be going back this year due to my job and well I already miss it and its June. Hope everyone has a killer time this summer.

Tarpon pwnage

Well this guy is pretty good at fishing solo. These fish in this video are beasts too.

Definitely worth the 5 minutes. At the very least, skip to 4 minutes to see him chase after a poon.
